High in the snow-capped peaks of the Feywild, packs of these wild beast roam. Its kind were first spotted by nomadic arctic clans of the Naiads hundreds of years ago. When the Naiads originally encounter these creatures, they noticed its innate ability to open a portal to the material place using a cluster of crystal formations on its tail. Seeing this as a way to traverse the planescape, the Naiads began to tame and ranch these creatures and gifted them the name of the Niphas, or in their language “The Travelling Snowflake”.   Peaceful War Mounts. While mostly dossel creatures in the wild, the Naiads have trained the large quadrupedal creatures as roaming war mounts used mostly for defence. Its large, furred body gives the creature a nature aversion to attacks, as well as charge forward and trample the aggressors. The long flat tail can also be utilized as a tail whip that drives the crystals into its opponent. Tales have been told that some Niphas will discharge a small amount of its arcane energy into its victim after a tail attack, causing the target to be banished to the Feywild arctic regions.   Mobile Minion Cannon. Using its long flat tail with equally spaced crystal clusters, the Niphas create gateways between the material plane and Feywilds. When the Niphas bares down, digging its paws into the ground and leaning forward, it flexes its tail muscle and activates the arcane energies needed to produce the gateway. Taking advantage of this ability, the Naiads have captured hoards Ice Mephits to be released through the gateway during a battle.
