Overview & Creation

The nullblood are those who are trained to use their own blood and life force to manipulate and dominate arcane forces.

Class Features

Spellburn

Starting at 3rd level, you can now use your life energy to disrupt arcane constructs in your vicinity. If you within 30 feet of a target and see a creature casting a spell, you can use your reaction to take spellburn damage and cause the spell to fail. You may also use this ability to end an active spell or magical effect within 30 feet of you that you can see; this also causes spellburn damage. The range increases to 60 feet at 8th level.   Spellburn damage is the failed spell's level times 1d4+1. (Cantrips count as level 1 spells for the spellburn damage.) Example(s): a 1st level spell has a spellburn damage of 1d4+1, a 4th level spell has a spellburn damage of 4d4+4.

Immaterial Aid

At 9th level, you learn to harness the excess energy of your spellburn to help mold the immaterial world to aid you in combat. When you use spellburn, you can make an Intelligence (Arcana) check against a target, contested by the target's Intelligence (Arcana) check. If you succeed, the next attack against that target has advantage.

Attunement of Blood

Starting at 13th level, your life energy now attunes to recognize fluctuations in the immaterial. You now gain the effects of the detect magic spell permanently.

Arcane Detonation

At 17th level, you have mastered the ways of influencing the realm of the immaterial. As a bonus action, you select a target and prime them. The next time you hit the target with an attack, a pulse of violent arcane energy pulses out from the target, dealing damage equal to a number of d6s equal to the target's highest available spell slot level in a 20 foot radius.   Once you use this feature, you must finish a long rest before you can use it again.
