Class Features

Driveblade Starting at first level your character has obtained a special weapon known as a Driveblade; a large, two handed, single edged, blade that has complicated magic/mechanical workings on its insides. Originally created by the Métallos, these blades have since found their ways into the hands of many adventures who have learned to utilize their full potential. Driveblade’s deal 1d10+STR damage, are two handed, weigh 10 pounds, and grant a +1 AC to their wielders.   Assault Drive At first level you know how to charge up your Driveblade and unleash a great amount of force into a single slash, resulting in an Assault Drive. When using this ability, make a melee attack roll again any creature within range. On a successful hit the target takes 3d10 + STR * 2 DMG and must make a constitution saving throw, on a failed saving throw the creature is knocked prone. on a hit due to the strain and heat this ability builds up in the Driveblade’s inner mechanisms, it will enter into a Cooldown, while the Driveblade is in Cooldown, this ability can not be used again, this does not come into effect of this ability misses it's target.   Heat Sink At second level, You understand the inner workings of your Driveblade even better and have learned how to utilize the feature Heat Sink. As an action you can use Heat Sink to instantly cool down your Driveblade, letting you use the blades strongest skills quickly once again. As the cooling mechanisms must recharge after use, this ability can only be used once per long rest.   Innerworkings At 3rd level, with so much possibility with your Driveblade you must chose a path to focus on and learn, choosing between learning about the Intercooler, a mechanism dedicated to cooling down the Driveblade faster, or The Driver, a mechanism dedicated to creating the Driveblade’s strongest blows. Both detailed at the end of the class description. Your choice grants you features at level 3 and again at 7th, 11th, 14th, and 17th levels.   ABILITY SCORE IMPROVEMENT When you reach 4th level, and again at 8th, 12th, 16th, and 19th level, you can increase one ability score of your choice by 2, or you can increase two ability score by 1. As normal, you can’t increase an ability score above 20 using this feature.   Driveblade Upgrade When you reach 5th level you reach a state of understanding for your driveblade that you are able to create an upgrade for it, Once an upgrade is applied to the Driveblade it can not be undone and becomes a permanent fixture of the blade. A new Upgrade can be added onto the blade at 10th, 15th, and 20th levels. At each specified level chose an upgrade from the list below.     Driver Upgrade Minima: When this upgrade is equip to the Driveblade the damage dealt by Drive abilities increases by 1 die type.   Driver Upgrade Maxima: (Requires Driver Upgrade Minima) When this upgrade is equip to the Driveblade, Increase the number of damage die for all Drive abilities by 2.   Blade Reinforcements 1: When this upgrade is equip to the Driveblade, the amount of AC granted by the Driveblade increases by 2.   Blade Reinforcements 2: (Requires Blade Reinforcements 1) When this upgrade is equip to the Driveblade, the amount of AC granted by the Driveblade increases by 2 again.   Self Sharpener Alpha: When this upgrade is equip to the Driveblade, increase the Driveblade’s base damage to 2d10.   Self Sharpener Beta: (Requires Self Sharpener A) When this upgrade is equip to the Driveblade, increase the Driveblade’s base damage to 3d10.   Self Sharpener Delta: (Requires Self Sharpener B) When this upgrade is equip to the Driveblade, increase the Driveblade’s Critical range to 19-20.   Self Sharpener Theta: (Requires Self Sharpener C) When this upgrade is equip to the Driveblade, increase the Driveblade’s Critical range to 18-20.   Enhanced Cooling: When this upgrade is equip to the Driveblade, The skill Heatsink can be used as an action once per short rest.   Quick Cooling: (Requires Enhanced Cooling) When this upgrade is equip to the Driveblade, the skill Heatsink can be used as a free action.   Light Weight: When this upgrade is equip to the Driveblade, it allows the Driveblade to be used one handed and gives it the finesse property.   Feather Blade: (Requires Light Weight) When this upgrade is equip to the Driveblade, it allows the use of DEX inplace of STR when using skills.   Blood Edge At 6th level A new mechanism inside your drive blade has been unlocked, allowing the use of the skill Blood Edge. As a free action, once per long rest, you can activate Blood Edge, causing the Driveblade to glow bright red for thirty seconds, during this time all attacks made with the Driveblade will grant the user temporary hit points for half the amount of damage dealt.   Heavy Guard At 9th level Another new feature of the Driveblade has been discovered, a command called Heavy Guard. Once per short rest you can activate this function as a free action, while Heavy Guard is in effect, all Ally’s adjacent to you gain a bonus to their AC equal to the AC bonus granted by your Driveblade, this effect ends after 30 seconds or when there are no more Ally’s adjacent to your position.   Impulse Edge At 13th level a new ability is unlocked within the Driveblade, allowing for a new devastating attack to be used. Once per long rest, if Blood edge is currently active, as an action you can activate Impulse edge. When using impulse edge make a melee attack roll against every creature within 5 feet of yourself, All targets that are hit take 2d12 + # Temp hit points granted by blood edge damage. Activating this ability ends Blood Edge’s effects early and uses up all gathered temporary hit points gained from Blood Edge.   Absorber At 18th level your Driveblade has received another new feature called Absorber. Once per long rest you may activate this ability as a bonus action making your Driveblade glow bright blue for thirty seconds, during this time take ½ damage from all melee attacks and at the end of the duration send out a shockwave in the form of a 15 foot cone in a direction of your choice, dealing damage to all creatures equal to the amount of damage sustained.   Ignition At 20th level your Driveblade has reached the peak of its performance, unlocking it’s greatest feature, Ignition. Once per day as an action you can activate Ignition, once activated the next Drive skill that is used will deal Maximum damage and afterwords will not activate cooldown.

Driver & Intercooler With a further understanding of your Driveblade ready and waiting to be unlocked and understood, you must choose between learning more about its Driver systems or its Intercooler systems, both fulfilling intense and powerful rolls for all Drivers. Driver systems, charge up the inner mechanisms of the blade, pushing them to their limits to deal out intense and powerful bursts of power to their enemies. While the Intercooler systems work to resonate with the blade and keep it functioning without much fluctuation cooling the blade through a variety of mechanisms.   DRIVER SYSTEMS   Heat Shield At level 3, when choosing to focus on the Driver systems of the Driveblade, the first mechanism unlocked is the Heat Shield. This ability grants a +1 bonus to AC as long as the Drive Blade is in cooldown, this ability upgrades to +2 at level 9th level, and again to +3 at 15th level.   Magi Drive At level 7, you have unlocked one of the core features of the Driver systems, gaining access to the Magi Drive, allowing for a new set of Elemental Drive skills to be accessed. When using Magi Drive, chose a single creature within range and make a melee attack roll against it, on a hit the selected creature takes 5d10 + STR * 2 elemental damage, with the element being chosen before the attack. The available elements being Fire, Ice, and Lightning; this ability upgrades at level 14 to also deal Light, or Dark damage as well. On a hit due to the strain and heat this ability builds up in the Driveblade’s inner mechanisms, it will enter into a Cooldown, while the Driveblade is in Cooldown, this ability can not be used again. This does not come into effect of the ability misses.   Charge Edge At 11th level, your Driveblade has unlocked another new mechanism, allowing the use of Charge Edge. Once per long rest you can chose a single creature and make a melee attack roll against it, on a hit the creature takes 2d12+STR damage and your Driveblade becomes charged. Once your Driveblade is charged your next Drive skill will deal extra damage equal to 5 * your Driver Level. This ability upgrades at 18th level, allowing use once per short rest.   Accel Drive At 17th level the final and absolute strongest Drive skill for the Driveblade is unlocked, the Accel Drive. Once this ability is used the Driveblade enters an indefinite state of cooldown and won’t recharge on it’s own for a full 24 hours.   INTERCOOLER SYSTEMS   Sharp Edge At 3rd level, when choosing to focus on the Intercooler Systems of the Driveblade, the first feature to be unlocked is the ability Sharp Edge. When this ability is used, make a melee attack roll against a single creature, on a hit the targeted creature takes 1d12 + STR damage and must make a Constitution saving throw (DC 8+ ½ Driver level) or gain the bleeding effect, taking 1d4 damage at the end of each round for 1d8+1 turns. This ability upgrades at level 9 to deal 2d12 + STR damage.   Force Edge At 7th level more features of the Driveblade’s Intercooler systems are unlocked, allowing the use of Force Edge; this skill can only be used as a follow up to Sharp Edge.
