Instant Adaptation Once per turn, as a reaction to getting struck with elemental magic damage (from an attack, from an environmental effect, or from a spell), the rift-kite changes its elemental alignment. This change gives it resistance to the triggering damage type, but vulnerability to a different element. The table below shows which elements are linked.
Attack
The rift-kite can make choose one of the below options for its singular attack.
Bite
Melee Weapon Attack: +6 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 1d8+4 piercing damage.
Tail-Whip
Melee Weapon Attack: +6 to hit, reach 15 ft., one target. Hit: 2d6+4 slashing damage.
Alight
As a bonus action, the rift-kite can move half its speed in order to change altitude, including from the ground to the air or vice versa.
