Charge

As a Taser, you have a well of power within you that is measured in Charges. These Charges are used to preform various abilities. The number of Charges you have at your disposal to expend on preforming these abilities will increase over time. The amount of Charges you have access to is shown on the Taser class table.

Diffuse

The power that you possess does not well from inside you but also surrounds you and gives you an electrifying presence. You have disadvantage whenever you attempt to make an Animal Handling check. Additionally, at higher levels this presence will imbue any melee attacks made by you with additional Lightning damage. The amount of Lightning damage this ability inflicts will increase over time and is shown on the Taser class table.

Shock

At 1st level, your control over the power you possess has grown to the point where you can channel it through your Focus and inflict harm on any opponent you may encounter. You may expend an action to make a melee attack with your Focus that deals 2d8 lightning damage.

Before making the attack, you may expend and additional 2 Charges to deal an additional 2d8 of Lightning damage. you may do this up to 2 times per attack.

Channel

At 2nd level, your connection with your Focus has grown stronger to the point where it is like an extension of your own body. your are now capable of using your Focus to channel your power at a target at a distance. You may expend 2 Charges and an action to make a ranged spell attack on a target within 15ft of you. The target must make a Dexterity save and take 3d6 Lightning damage on a failed save or half as much on a successful one.

The save DC = 8 + Prof + Wis mod. The range of this attack will increase by 5ft every time you reach a higher level.
Before making the attack, you may expend and additional 2 Charges to deal an additional 3d6 of Lightning damage. you may do this up to 3 times per attack.

Taser's Source

Disclaimer: the subclass you will chose should be considered before writing your character's backstory.

The nature of your power determines what skillsets come naturally to you. At 3rd level, you may chose between the Elemental and the Experimental subclasses, both listed below the Class Features section. You get features from your chosen subclass at 3rd, 7th, 11th, 15th, and 18th levels.

Ability Score Improvement

When you reach 4th level, and again at 8th, 12th, 16th, and 19th level, you can increase one ability score of your choice by 2, or you can increase two ability scores of your choice by 1. As normal you can't increase an ability score above 20 using this feature. (Optional Rule: your passive perception increases by 1)

Extra Attack

Beginning at 5th level, you can attack twice, instead of once, whenever you take the Attack action on your turn.

Defy

By 6th level, your power has grown and has allowed you to tamper with the natural forces that surround you. Allowing you to seemingly defy gravity itself and lift yourself and other objects off the ground.
You may expend 6 Charges and cast the spell Levitate.

Pull

By 9th level, your control over your power has become a unfaltering one, and through your knowledge and experience with this power you learn new ways in which it can be used. You learn that your power has a strong connection to things of iron and gold, and through your power you may draw those items to you with ease.

(It is up to the DMs discretion what items this ability can be successfully used on, but small weapons such as daggers, short swords, and the like as well as coinage of every kind are ample targets, as long as they are made of metal.)

You may expend 4 Charges to pull items and small weapons towards you. If you pull a weapon or item out of a creatures grasp the creature must make an opposed Strength check, (DC = 8 + Wis mod) or lose it to your control.

By 13th Level, you have discovered that the power you wield can be used to excite an object of metal material to where it begins to glow and burn from heat.
you may expend 8 Charges to cast the spell Heat Metal.
