Rembrandt

Rembrandt's Memorial Medal for Distinguished Service is named after this famous cat, but who is he really?

The most famous cat this side of Brunswick, and even that's debatable. Few cats have saved their human's life, this one saved an entire family, and made sure the humans all made it.

Most humans in Kagomei would have been honoured to just have a Box of Honour. Rembrandt had one of the biggest, tallest boxes of honours anyone had ever seen. But he'd have fit inside his. In fact, he was the only person whose box of honour included a statue... of himself, because he was a cat, it happened to be life-sized. At the time, there was an enormous scandal. That statue would have bought a palace, some said. The money could be put to better use, elsewhere, others added. But Prithyanka, who lived through her ordeal thanks to the cat, but was diagnosed with Malignant Glioblastoma soon after, distracted the news cycle. And so, The Discreet Emerald, the largest emerald not part of the Kagomine Crown Jewels was cut, and implanted into a statue of solid platinum, an emerald representation of the medal that was named after the cat, implanted into the chest scruff of the cat, two smaller emeralds made into its eyes.
