Kulkodari Longhorn Bow

Damage (S) Damage (M) Type Critical Range
- 2d8 Piercing X3 120ft. (projectile

Special: Due to the construction technique of Kulkodari Longhorn bows, they can not be made for small or smaller sized creatures. Kulkodari hornbows are composite bows and can be modified to benefit from high Strength scores in the same way as other composite bows with the exception that their strength score can be no lower than +4 and can be as high as +10. Any effect that applies to both longbows and shortbows also applies to hornbows. If a character with a strength score of less than 17 (19 for large) attempts to wield a Kulkodari Longhorn Bow, they suffer a -2 on attack and damage rolls. This penalty stacks with having an insufficient strength score for the composite bonus. A Kulkodari Longhorn bow is too powerful for most normal arrows; if fired using any non-magical arrow other than Kulkodari Longhorn arrows, there is a 25% chance that the arrow shatters when shot, making the attack an automatic miss and deal 1d4 piercing damage to the wielder.

Crafted from the powerful horns of the immense aurochs herded by the Kulkodari, these bows have incredible power. Built predominantly for the large handed Kulkodar, the bow features two sets of parallel arms to increase the draw weight and fling arrows at terrifying speeds. The bow string is normally crafted from a specially treated chord of dried gut while the arrows it fires are often iron reinforced horn from the aurochs. It is unusual to see a Kulkodari Longhorn Bow made to fit the hands of other races but not unheard of. Tales of the bow’s strength make it a prize for collectors and dealers of martial treasures and the Kulkodar are not above selling their craftsmanship to those willing to pay.
