Benefits

The possessor of this ability gains the See in Darkness special quality. They also learn a secret of the shadows, and as a standard action can envelope the radius of their Aura of Ill Fortune in an area of umbral shadow, as per the spell Deeper Darkness. As a swift action, a creature can center the darkness anywhere within the radius and move within it without the darkness following them. Similarly, as a swift action, they can recall the darkness to center and follow them. The darkness dissipates if the creature leaves the darkness at any point.
