Ring: Raskirinthian Sinwed Widow's Ring

Wondrous Item

Uncommon

While worn, matriomonial weapons do 50% more damage.   While worn, gain 20 Psychic Damage Aggravation.   The traditional Raskirinthian widow's ring is a modest yet exquisitely crafted piece of jewelry, made entirely of sinwed. The ring’s band is narrow but dense, with a faintly concave interior surface designed to sit flush against the skin, ensuring both comfort and an almost imperceptible presence when worn. The exterior surface is slightly rounded, giving the band a subtle, graceful curvature that feels both refined and austere.   The sinwed itself has a muted luster, more akin to moonlight reflecting off frost than the bright gleam of polished metal. This subdued quality is deliberate. Closer inspection reveals faint striations running along the band, resembling the grain of ancient wood or the delicate veins of a leaf. These markings are etched into the alloy during the forging process, giving each ring a unique pattern that mimics the individuality of grief and loss. The striations are filled with a darker metal.   At the top of the band, a small, oval-shaped bezel is set with a single piece of a translucent white microcrystalline stone. The stone is unpolished, its surface slightly rough and clouded, as though it holds a memory of the hands that shaped it. The stone is left deliberately uncut to evoke the natural imperfections of life and the rawness of loss. Around the base of the stone, delicate engravings form the outline of intertwining roots. These roots, though intricate, do not dominate the design, instead merging seamlessly into the band as if growing naturally from it.   The inner circumference of the band is engraved with a short inscription, written in Roalic. The words are small but meticulously carved, their sharp edges suggesting the care and precision of the jeweler. These inscriptions often vary, but traditional phrases include, "Rooted in memory," or "Bound in light," reflecting the widow’s enduring bond to their lost spouse. In some cases, the date of the partner’s death is also etched into the interior, alongside the widow’s own name, as a personal and enduring mark of their connection.   Despite its modest size and restrained design, the widow’s ring carries an undeniable gravity. Its simplicity speaks volumes, conveying the weight of mourning and the quiet resilience expected of those who bear its mark. The ring is never ornate or flamboyant; instead, it reflects the Raskirinthian philosophy of strength through purity and devotion, a fitting emblem of loss and enduring love.
