Prerequisite(s)
Tower Shield Proficiency, Str 13
Benefits
You may use the Shield Bash action with tower shields, and you threaten adjacent areas normally while equipped with a tower shield. When bashing with a tower shield you suffer a -2 penalty to the attack roll due to the shield's encumbrance, though you can ignore this penalty if your non-shield hand is free.
Normal
You can't normally use the Shield Bash action with tower shields, nor do you threaten adjacent areas.

Damage 1d4 (small), 1d6 (medium) Critical x2 Type bludgeoning
Category one-handed Proficiency martial
Weapon Groups close, tribal
You can bash an opponent with a shield, using it as an off-hand weapon (or as a two-handed weapon for tower shields, mitigating the -2 penalty to bashing with a tower shield). Used this way, a shield is a martial bludgeoning weapon. If you use your shield as a weapon, you lose its AC bonus until your next turn. An enhancement bonus on a shield does not improve the effectiveness of a shield bash made with it, but the shield can be made into a magic weapon in its own right.
