Session 2: Hunting and Exploring

General Summary

Looking for a job the party went to see Powell Morgan, owner of the Bryn Collection.   From there they found the contract to hunt an retrieve a Red Monitor Lizard, with a bonus to return it alive.   While there Vallius Halzon, walked in asking Powell if he know some mercenaries willing to go off the island. Powell introduced them to the party and after some discussion the Party agreed to work with him to Colonize Malizon.   The party immediately set out to the jungle to try to find a Red Monitor Lizard before it got to late. Managing to track down the lizard with aid of Charles Drake's survival skills.   After tracking an opening where it was eatting it's freshly killed prey. The party came up with a plan to trap it. Using a net they purchased and the effective grappling of Grik Mala'Molzor, they were able to get it subdued and tied up. While grappled Grik took a brutal bite knocking him unconscious.   Arriving back at Hiverton late at night with the lizard in tow, they returned to Powell Morgan to retrieve their reward. Receiving 350 gold pieces for the capture of the alive lizard.   The Following morning the party got their affairs in order buying potions, upgrading weapons, and saying goodbye to loved ones.   Departing Around 11 on the Inverness, captained by Adda Pew. they set sail on a course due southwest of Hiverton.   Late in the day, they spotted a ship that went undetected long enough for it to get well within sight.   Outnumbered the Party came up with a plan to use the supplies onboard to improvise a nailbomb in a barrel to injure them as they board.   Exchanging fire as they ship got closer a few of the pirates were taken down, but they successfully landed a harpoon and crashed into the Inverness   While the pirates were boarding Grik tried to get away from an advanced pirate and took a Falchion to the back. Shortly after Charles Detonated the bomb inflicting heavy damage to the boarders, which allows Keilana Vyshaan, and Charles to mop up the remaining combatants.   After the battle the crew of the Inverness, was occupied stopping the water rushing in. The party went aboard the pirate's sloop, to realize water was rushing in on that ship as well.   Through the quick thinking, and the rapid pumping of Charles Drake. They were able to save the ship from completely going under.
